Foljambe of Steveton
Alice Foljambe, daughter of Sir Godfrey Foljambe of Hassop in Derbyshire married Sir Robert Plumpton (1383-1421), eldest son and heir of Sir William . This was a notably advantageous marriage (1401) as Alice , a wealthy heiress brought with her substantial estates in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire: as a result, the Plumpton sphere of influence, largely confined to the West Riding, had now expanded to take in territory in the North Midlands

Godfrey Foljambe (15581595), a Derbyshire JP and MP, married Isabel, Lady Darcy, nee Wray (d. 1622), They had one daughter - Katherine Wright. Godfrey Foljambe died in June 1595, leaving his wife considerable property in Derbyshire and Yorkshire. By 1599 Isabel had married Sir William Bowes (d. 1611), a Durham gentleman
Sir Francis Foljambe. His first marriage was on 21/10/1614 to Elizabeth Wray,daughter of Sir William Wray of Glentworth; his second marriage was to Elizabeth Reresby of Thrybergh daughter of Sir George Reresby, on 22/05/1638.
Sir Francis Foljambe, sold Walton Manor House and the Derbyshire estate to Sir Arthur Ingram in 1633. From that time Aldwark became the chief residence of the family. Sir Francis died, leaving no male issue, in 1640, and the representation of his family devolved on his third cousin, Peter Foljambe, who was able to prove his descent and claim to the family estates. He lived at Steveton, one of the inherited estates in the parish of Sherborn, Yorkshire, and died in 1668.
Catherine Foljambe (17171740), the fourth daughter of Francis Foljambe of Aldwarke, a prominent Yorkshire landowner, married Sir Henry Ibbetson, first baronet (17081761)on 23rd December 1736 . Catherine died childless within four years of the marriage, and on 6 October 1741 he married Isabella Carr (d. 1757), the elder daughter of Ralph Carr of Cocken Hall, co. Durham.
