Will you register the Domain name?

We can arrange to register a name of your choice on your behalf, however, due to technicalities of the registration process the name would then belong to us. Ideally you should personally register your own domain name. The registration records will then show the details of ownership clearly.

We will be pleased to guide you through the processes of registering your domain name.

Can I choose any name I like?

You need to be flexible, while www.abc.co.uk may not be available; www.abconline.co.uk might be. Therefore, if you would like us to register the name for you, be prepared to give alternative names.

We suggest you keep it simple. People will remember www.johnbsmith.co.uk, but will they remember www.johnbsmithlightingsuppliers.co.uk

What is Web Hosting?

This is a service that allows your Website to be viewed over the Internet. All websites, are hosted on computers, known as Web Servers. The Web Server - where the content of your website is stored(text, images, our design files), is known as the Web Host.

You will pay a fee, usually each year, and the Web Host will allocate space for your Website on his Server.

Your Web Designer uploads your Website's files to the Hosts Web Server which allows your website to be viewed over the Internet. Good value web hosting.

What is e-mail forwarding and do I need it?

When a domain name is purchased, e-mail forwarding is most likely included in the cost. If not, it can be supplied for a very small charge. The benefit is that it makes you look more professional in that for example if your website is www.abc.co.uk; your e-mail will be

You arrange Search Engine Submission, what is that?

Once your site is up and running, you want as many visitors to see your site. There are hundreds of search engines, but many of them use the same databases, we will submit your website to what we consider to be, the most appropriate search engines.

And Search Engine Optimisation?

Do I need to know about DTD's and Valid Code?

There is a lot of talk about Web Accessibility, what is this all about?

People view web sites through different browsers, using different screen resolutions. Some people are visually impaired. We take all this and more into consideration and make sure that your site complies with necessary Standards.
