Valley Park, Herringthorpe, Rotherham
Entrance to Valley Park is from Brookside.
Herringthorpe Wood and Gibbing Greave are two neighbouring woodlands which lie adjacent to Herringthorpe Valley Park, a mile and a half east of Rotherham town centre. The combined area of the two woodlands is just under 11 hectares. Herringthorpe Wood is also thought to be of ancient origin although the evidence for this is less clear.
A large urban park landscaped in the early 1970's with a pavilion with planted shrubbery, large numbers of maturing trees and facilities include bowling greens, tennis courts, putting green and pitch and putt. It is used for orienteering.Open from April.
