Tour of Britain, 2007

Stage 4:Rother Valley Country Park to Bradford Thursday 13 September

Among 16 teams competing, Agritubel, Team CSC and Barloworld who took part in this year's Tour de France have confirmed they will ride in this year's Tour of Britain.Also taking part are five British teams, including Team Recycling.co.uk , Team Great Britain, previous stage winners of this tour.

 

Stage 4 starts at Rother Valley Country Park at 10:15 a.m. The stage starts with a neutralised section, allowing the riders to get up to speed safely, with the real racing beginning at Ulley Country Park at 10:35. The first Hot Spot Sprint point is at Wickersley about 10.45 p.m. after 5.5 miles.

The first of the day’s two climbs counting towards the King of the Mountains competition is the Third Category ascent of Limestone Hill after 11.3 miles.

The race then goes north after Bawtry, to pass Robin Hood Airport and then east of Doncaster before crossing the Thorne and Hatfield Moors to arrive at the second Hot Spot Sprint point of the day. This takes place at Moorends, outside Thorne at 11:35.

The Tour then heads into the eastern Pennines and onto the final Hot Spot Sprint point of the day in Otley after 80.8 miles.

After Ilkley the road heads upwards, to the climb of the Cow & Calf, with the race scheduled to reach the summit, of what is the final First Category climb of this year’s Tour of Britain, at 13:35 p.m.

From the top of the climb, there’s just 21km to the finish in Lister Park, Bradford at 14:15.
