Provisional Cavalry 1797

The following are part of the Resolutions of the General Meeting of Lieutenancy, held at Leeds, on Monday the 5th of February, 1797:

 

For clothing every Man enrolled - £2. 9s. 6d.

For providing furniture for the Horse - £4.

For extra expenses in maintaining and keeping the Horse fit for such service for one year - £6.

For the principal balloted who has not a Horse or having one that is unfit for service, for providing a Horse to be approved for the purpose - £15.

To the principal balloted, who is unfit for service, for providing a substitute to attend the general Musters - £7. 7s.

The Cavalry within this District are to be mustered on Monday the 17th of April for the first time; at Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield.
