Pedigree of Wrightson
Robert Wrightson, b.1629, purchased the manor and lands of Cusworth about 1670 from the Wray family.
Robert Wrightson m. (1) Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Garland, of Todwick. Children:

he married (2) Sarah, daughter of Sir Thomas Beaumont of Whitley in 1646. Children:

Sarah (Nee Beaumont died 13th September, 1717, and was buried at Hemsworth. Robert Wrightson died 17th December, 1708, was buried at Hemsworth, and succeeded by his elder son Thomas.
Thomas Wrightson(d.1724) of Cusworth, was high sheriff for Yorkshire in 1714. He married Jane, daughter of Sir Paul Barret. He was succeeded by his brother William in January, 1724
William Wrightson (1676-1760) of Cusworth, b. in 1676, M.P. for Newcastle-on-Tyne. He married twice. (m1) Isabel, (widow of Thomas Matthews?) daughter of Francis Burton, of Newcastle.
(m2) Isabel, eldest daughter and co-heir of William Fenwick, esq. of Bywell, Northumberland. He died 4th December, 1760, buried at Hemsworth. One surviving child and heiress Isabel Wrightson.Isabel Wrightson of Cusworth, b.1727, married 29th December, 1748, John Battie of Warmsworth who assumed in 1761, the surname and arms of Wrightson. He died in 1766, aged forty-three. Isabel, the heiress of Cusworth, left at her decease in 1784, an only surviving child, William Wrightson, esq. of Cusworth, high sheriff for Yorkshire in 1821, and M.P. for Aylesbury.
William Wrightson, esq. of Cusworth (m1) Barbara (d.1782), daughter of James Bland, of Hurworth, in Durham, no issue. (m2) in 1787, Henrietta, daughter and co-heir of Richard Heber, of Marton. There were several children including William Battie Wrightson, his heir.
William Battie Wrightson of Cusworth, Doncaster, formerly M.P. for East Retford, married Georgiana, daughter of Freeman Thomas, of Ratton, in Sussex. Mr. Wrightson succeeded his father in 1827.
