The Big Draw and Rotherham Open Arts Festival October 2012
Here are several projects from Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance happening during October in Rotherham Town Centre as part of The Big Draw and Rotherham Open Arts Festival.
Wind by Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance, Minster Gardens, Rotherham Town Centre. 11am - 2pm Friday 5th October.
Wind Drawing is an art laboratory (gazebo) in the Minster Gardens.
Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance and willing volunteers will be attempting to harness the power of the wind to draw for us. You are welcome to come an experience our experiments but we also encourage your to help us as we 'don't necessarily know what we are doing'.
It will be a playful experiment.
Big Paper Drawing Friday by Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance, Minster Gardens, Rotherham Town Centre. 11am - 2pm Friday 12th October
Big Paper Drawing Friday is exactly what is claims to be. There will be a big piece of paper and drawing implements available for anyone to make their mark. The theme of the Big Draw this year is 2012 in lines so we will be attempting to only use lines on our big Rotherham picture.
Collaborate 2012 by Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance and Point Blank Theatre, 25 Wellgate, Rotherham. 15th - 19th October
An artist arrives... discovers something….responds to this by creating a visual/creative sonic/musical score...the artist leaves…a musician arrives and plays/interprets the score….both arrive the next day and collaborate. This is repeated through the week.
It will be possible to view this through the shop windows.
Competition
It’s competition time...
Your challenge is to create an automated drawing machine. The only rule: a human cannot power or control the machine.
The machines will be performing at The Imperial Buildings, Rotherham, S60 1PA on 26th October 10am - 2pm.
