TOP SHEFFIELD HOTEL ON TRACK TO HOST CHARITY SHOWPIECE

A former station hotel in Sheffield is on track to host a major railway themed fundraising ball.

The Holiday Inn Royal Victoria is giving its backing to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice latest fundraising drive by hosting its special ‘Orient Express’ sponsorship ball.

The hotel was chosen as the venue for the Bluebell Ball on Saturday November 11, which aims to raise more than £20,000 for the children’s hospice in Dinnington, Rotherham.

Up to 300 guests will enjoy exclusive live entertainment including a champagne reception, disco, grand pianist and four-course meal featuring dishes from all along the Orient Express route, including Paris, Venice and Istanbul.

Helen Mower, Community Fundraiser for Bluebell Wood said: ' The ball promises to be a fantastic evening's entertainment in the fabulously appropriate setting of a former station hotel. The venue has some real character to it and it is not often that you find a ballroom as spectacular as the Royal Victoria’s.

'The hotel has worked closely with us to design a themed menu, and small details throughout the evening will remind guests that they are on the train trip of a lifetime! '

Hermann, Co-owner of the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria, said: It is an honour to host such an inspiring event for such a worthwhile local charity. We trust that this will help them in their final push to raise the money needed to offer families restbite and palliative care to in the region.'
