The International Society for Green Flowers

As gardens go eco-green, one plant lover concentrates her efforts on green flowers. She launches the ISGS (The International Society for Green Flowers) in April 2009.

Karen Platt, founder of the society has written a book entitled 'Emeralds', on 1,000 green flowers for all those who want to be green in more ways than one.

'I’ve been researching green flowers for more than ten years' says Karen, who is also founder of the very popular International Black Plant Society. Her passion for the unusual is catching. 'Green is very hauntingly beautiful, and although most of us know half a dozen obvious green flowers, no-one has studied them in depth'. Karen has launched the society to further the knowledge of one of nature’s gems.

'Green is taken for granted, she smiles, 'but green flowers are virtually un-used. So I’m all set to change that with the most comprehensive and unique book on the subject. As well as a complete directory and descriptions of flowers, the book includes choice green foliage and designs for gardens.'

Join the society today and get a free copy of the book (worth 16.99) for just 30 GBP (UK only, overseas please call) by sending a cheque payable to Karen Platt at 35 Longfield Road. Crookes. Sheffield. S10 1QW. England. You can also join the International Black Plant Society with a free copy of 'Black Magic and Purple Passion' for just 30 GBP.
