Eastwood
Eastwood House, was the seat of Mrs. Sarah Walker. Also Joseph Foljambe, who patented the Rotherham Plough , in 1730 lived in Eastwood.
A hoard of 30-40 3rd century AD Roman coins was discovered in 1869 in the foundation of 100 Eldon Road. Three of the coins, all that remain of the hoard, were passed to Clifton Park Museum in 1950.
Some 16 Roman coins were found in 1928 during the excavations for the foundation of a stanchion when Rotherham Technical College (RCAT) was built. Five of the coins, of Constans, Magnentius, and Julian II (AD 337-363), are now in Clifton Park Museum. A late 3rd century hoard.
The Church of St Saviours on St Stephens Road was built in 1901.
The Anglican parish church built in 1872-4 to a design by Thomas D. Barry, with a tower erected in 1907, apparently to the original design and supervised by J. E. Knight. The church contains stained glass by Camm of Smethwick and was declared redundant in 1990.
St. Stephen's Church was erected in 1874 at a cost of about £4000. There are several stained glass windows including two unveiled in 1895 in memory of Rev. George Alexander.
