Power cut caused by man on pylon

After a power cut had been reported at Laughton, near Rotherham, Yorkshire yesterday, an electricity linesman found a man sprawled across the earth bar at the top of a 30ft. high-tension pylon carrying 10,000 volts.

The man, who was identified by the police as Albert Brodle, aged 33, colliery surface worker, of Firbeck Avenue, Laughton, was brought down by a rescue squad of the Yorkshire Electricity Board.

He was taken to hospital suffering from multiple injuries and severe burns.
