Rotherham Tenants Want to Be Involved in Council House Futures
At the Rother Fed delegate meeting at the Unity Centre on Wednesday 10th September 2008, tenants and residents made it very clear that they wished to be fully involved in the work of the Council House Futures Group set up by Rotherham Borough Council. 50 people attended this open meeting addressed by Cllr Jahangir Akhtar, RMBC Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods which also included a short workshop discussing how tenants wish to be involved in the future management of council housing following the completion of Decent Homes.
As a result of calls for greater involvement in council house futures at this meeting, Rother Fed will be setting up a tenants reference group which will both explore the various options for the future of council housing and put forward tenants views.
